You have answered the biggest question – yes, we will homeschool. Now what?
If you are withdrawing a child from public school, they will request that you ‘withdraw’ them first. This means submitting a basic statement that you are pulling your child(ren) out of said school with the intent to homeschool. If you are joining Faithful Scholars, complete this Intent to Withdraw form as your submission. Know that your child(ren) will remain enrolled until the school receives your Member Letter. This will be created upon our offices processing your application, sending you a Welcome email, at which time you can go to your Faithful Scholars’ member login portal to download/print/send to the school. If you would like us to do this for you, after application, email us the name and email address of the person to receive your Member Letter.
Our normal turn-around rate for membership is 3 to 5 days, but you have the option to expedite just about anything Faithful Scholars does for you, and, if you expedite your application, your member portal will be opened within 2 business day.
Next, you will want to possibly DeSchool for a week or two as you discover your 24/7 family rhythm and daily rhythm.as well as read about homeschool philosophy, search through content on the FS website as well as within your (free with membership) Umbrella Skye community. Remember, that your association is your ultimate source of answers as each association is legally able to create their own set of requirements and standards. Those convincing fb answers or the co op mom’s answer may be very different from what you might receive from Faithful Scholars. Often, in these situations we find that it creates worry over having not met a standard…..-which, ultimately is not required of you by Faithful Scholars. We are known for our hand-holding along the full journey while keeping as hands off (or on) as you like/need on any given season.
Umbrella Skye is your strongest tool in your toolkit as not another noisy place or space to remember to check, but as the place that will build your skills as a teacher, administrator, and parent.
